Wood Engraving Lessons

Two new Wood Engraving Lessons- both introductions to the basics- Run at my own workshop in the New Year.

So whether you want a deeper insite to wood engraving or you think this medium is for you, come along to an introduction to the basics of wood engraving. You will be using a variety of tools and exploring the variety of marks the tools are able to make. We will look at the process and methods of interpreting designs that are needed to produce finished work- Hopefully depending on time and results we will touch on the basics of printing the blocks too. Everyone will take home their efforts. During the lesson we will also look at the history and development of this most quintessentially English of art mediums.

There is two dates to choose from- Thursday 8th January, or Monday 12th January 6pm to 9pm. Places are strictly limited, so please book early- or depending on demand I can and will add more dates- so if neither of these dates don't suit you, or are already booked drop me a line and let me know, I'm sure we can work something out.

The lessons will be held at my Workshop- which is at Village Works East Hoathly BN8 6QA Link to Google Maps; http://goo.gl/maps/DJWi5

The cost of these workshops is £50.00- which includes the cost of the block- which you get to take away. (if you're bitten by the bug- you can buy the tools to take home with you- they will cost £18.00 each) To book either lesson Click Here and select the date you require.

Here are some lovely comments I've had from students of previous classes:

Many thanks for an excellent class last night - I learned a lot -felt the balance between practicing and your input was spot on - good sense of humour and encouragement too - even tea and biscuits !!!
Was so inspired have bought tools today.

Many thanks -

Just a quick note to say thank you for the educational (and challenging) evening yesterday.

I really enjoyed it, and will definitely look to carry on with some more engravings,

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU for the course yesterday evening.

It was absolutely enthralling and I can’t wait to take a trip down to Lawrence’s, invest in a few tools and start practising

thanks again Keith – it was a great course and very lovely to meet you.
